Dear Colleague,

It is now just under a year before our reunion. Arrangements seem to be going quite well.

The main item at the moment is the dinner, this is not £30 as originally stated, but £35, this is because of a misunderstanding on my behalf, I did not realise that the menu price quoted, was for a set meal. I have had to include veg. and glut free options plus a choice for everybody. A copy of the menu is enclosed.

Regarding the visit to the Yorkshire air museum, I have not booked a buffet lunch, or hired their exclusive room, at £22.50 and £425 respectively, I decided that perhaps we could do without and use their normal catering facilities, which look quite reasonable. The size of their restaurant looks ok for our needs, at least this way we are not tied to a time for lunch. Most of the tables are round.

The visit to Linton is not confirmed at the moment, because it is a bit early to be arranged, I am going to assume that it is going ahead, so that I can collect the names of those interested in going.

                                        MENU FOR REUNION 28 JULY 2012

                                                                STARTERS                                               

  1.                                          Classic prawn cocktail with brown bread and butter.
  2.                                          Chicken and smoked bacon terrine with dressed salad and tarragon mayonnaise.
  3.                                          Soup of the day with crispy croutons (V)
  4.                                          Leek and Wensleydale tart with dressed leaves. (V)

                                           MAIN COURSES

  1.                                          Oven roasted chicken supreme with smoked bacon and leek cream sauce.
  2.                                          Honey and ginger marinated pork loin steak with braised pak choi.
  3.                                          Grilled fillet of salmon with a herb crust, crisp salad and tomato compote.
  4.                                          Wild mushroom stroganoff with braised rice. (V)

                                Mains served with potatoes and vegetables where appropriate.

                                                      DESSERTS

  1.                                          Lemon tart with a seasonal berry compote and Chantilly cream.
  2.                                          Vanilla baked cheesecake with a passion fruit coulis.
  3.                                          Dairy cream filled profiteroles served with a dark chocolate sauce.
  4.                                          Poached pear and almond praline with a bitter chocolate sauce. (G)

                               Freshly brewed Tea and Coffee served with chocolates.
